Lovely Lavender Hot Chocolate

I believe we are all creative and it's important to stay in touch with our creativity daily, even in what we consider to be simple and small acts. One of my favorite ways to build my artistic muscle is to play around with my loose leaf teas and create new taste experiences.

Last month as I was sitting outside reading a book and sipping Lavender Honeybush tea, I was craving some chocolate to go with it.  I love the flavor pairing of lavender and chocolate! I didn't have a good dark chocolate bar on hand but I did have a carton of Oatley Chocolate Oat Milk in the fridge. So, I took my last sip of tea, closed my book and went into the kitchen to see what I could create. It was from this spark that my idea for Lavender Hot Chocolate was born. It's super simple to make and delicious served hot with a frothy top or shaken in a cocktail shaker with ice & served cold.
My kids love this hot chocolate as much as I do and it's super lovely to enjoy in the evening as the lavender is so calming.

Lavender Hot Chocolate

2 tablespoons Honeybush Loose Leaf Tisane

1/2 teaspoon dried lavender flowers

1 cup Oatley Chocolate Oat Milk or other plant based chocolate milk

Heat the cup of chocolate milk in a saucepan with the loose leaf tea on low, simmering & stirring for 4 minutes. Strain the mixture using an infuser basket or strainer over your tea cup/mug. If desired, use a hand held frothing wand to create a frothy top. Enjoy!
